Hello my fellow Combo Smiters. I would like to take a moment to inform you all about a mini podcast I am planning to start this month; as you might guess, it has to do with strategy! Continue reading
Hey guys! Sorry this podcast is up late: Nick and I were up playing D&D in celebration of Aaron’s birthday until 1am (and then I got to drive home for an hour!), and the editing was blah blah blah excuses excuses IT’S DONE NOW.
Sorry folks. Marc lost his paying job on Wednesday (it was a stupid temp-job to pay for my writing expenses, so no great loss, but still a bit of an issue) so no podcast.
Nick is back in the country, and we’re all ready excited about upcoming tournaments and events, so expect some more tournament-analysis podcasts in the coming weeks!
Thanks for your patience, see everyone next week!
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s finally happened… not only did the new Skorne errata hit… but it looks good.
Before we get to the audio, just want to share an awesome image a couple listeners (hi MIke!) in Omaha sent us.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get happy little shivers from that. Thanks guys!
Anyway, on to the Skorne errata!
Privateer Press announced a bunch of new Theme Lists! Huzzah! We spend almost an hour discussing those Themes, and talk a little bit about some New Years Resolutions for WarMachine…
Overall, a good, short podcast! Back to Batreps for next week, probably! Until then, give this one a listen, let us know what ya think.
Also, under the cut you can see some theme lists that Nick, Kassem, and I are excited to try out in the coming weeks. Maybe you’ll get some inspiration for your own lists!
This week we’re doing another time-warp episode doing analysis on Todd’s tournament results.
I really enjoy doing these episodes, and I’m looking forward to doing another batch of them soon (I’m running another tournament in February, and then there’s the Ontario Team Championships, another tournament in April… lots of batreps, lots of analysis, lots of good things!).
Anyway! Give a listen, and remember that the analysis and tournament were both pre-Errata! Heck, we recorded the first half pre-Winter-holidays!
So a few weeks back we recorded an episode devoted to Darrell’s Menoth tournament pairing.
Since then… the world has changed. A lot of time is spent in the first half discussing “Mad Dogs”, a bit of time on Wurmwood, which, let’s be honest, are no longer an issue. But the rest of the stuff… still significant! Give it a listen, let us know what you think!
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season, and enjoying time spent with family and/or friends! A new errata dropped last week, and Nick and I sat down and talked about all the changes, and how we see the shifting meta… plus how we feel about the shift in PP’s policies towards errata and playtesting!
Let us know what you think!
(Also, a head’s up: we’ve run into the wall for media space on Combo Smite, so Marc is going to have to start deleting old images… the audio will stay, so you can still listen to all of our ancient podcasts, but don’t be surprised if the pretty pictures start disappearing!… and, coincidentally, that’s why our header images are now… different…)
We’re trying something new and exciting for this week (and a few other weeks coming up, due to Nick heading off to beautiful New Zealand for a month!). We’re going to focus very specifically on a list pairing in Legion, discussing why Nick built the lists he did first, and then come back after a local tournament to find out how he did!
It’s a new format, and I think it worked out really well… but let us know what you think!
More delays this week, so we’re pushing back the next podcast to next week.
Sorry for being so inconsistent, but we’re locking down on some great ideas for upcoming episodes, and we’re all still committed to bringing you guys great content.
Coincidentally, if you haven’t dropped by the Combo Smite Store recently, I’ve added a new line of “#TeamName” shirts. These include #TeamDarrell, #TeamTodd, #TeamNick, and #TeamKassem shirts, all with the great Combo Smite logo on the front and your favourite host on the back! Do check ’em out (they make great winter-festival presents for yourself, or for your friends!).
Thanks folks! Talk to y’all next week!
