We Are the Champions… Twice Removed…!

Hey folks. Life conspired to keep Nick and I from recording this weekend. We should be recording the Legion Faction review this week, though, so you can all look forward to that!

In other news: One of the Team Canadas came in 3rd at the WTC!

We play against (and with!) these guys all the time, so it really feels like a win for us (in a much less direct way than for the guys who actually worked and earned the win!). So congrats again to Chris, Bubba, Tim, David, and Chandler!

Podcast 126 – Team Canada Tournament Fundraiser

Another battle report podcast!? On a site theoretically devoted to battle report podcasts!?

What kind of nonsense is this!?

(Big thank you to Greg from Party Foul for the picture!)

For those of you willing and able to support a great group of guys (and awesome players!) head to the WTC, here’s the linky-link to Team Canada’s Indiegogo funding campaign!

Podcast 107 – Ontario Team Championship Analysis: Studying Is Fun!

Combo Smite has 2 full teams attending the Ontario Team Championships, a local version of the World Team Championships. This year, 24 teams from Ontario, Quebec, and the Northeastern United States will be attending the event, and the hosts have collected and tabulated the lists. This week, we’re going to dive into the numbers and talk a bit about the WarMachine and Hordes meta!

Link to the Party Foul numbers themselves! Just as a head’s up, after recording we studied a few of the lists, and there seems to be some errors (Nick found at least 3 pXerxis “Fist of Halaak” tiers, for example, and Marc found at least 1 eVyros tier), but we’re still very grateful that they crunched the numbers as much as they did!

Podcast Delayed – Sorry!

Hey folks! Due to a convergence of several factors (including Nick attending his grandfather-in-law’s funeral and the WTC), this week’s podcast has been delayed.

My hope is to get it out by Wednesday, with my heartfelt apologies!

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, and congratulations to the WTC Champions for 2015: Finland! Fantastic job by them (and if you haven’t seen the absolutely stunning conclusion to their final series with Team Australia… a hell of an ending!) and all the WTC Teams. We here at Combo Smite are particularly proud of Team Canada (obviously) as Team Goose had an exceptional Day 1, and Team Moose did some phenomenal catch-up on Day 2.

Anyhoo! Sorry again! This week’s game will be between Skorne and Cygnar, so look forward to that!

Tournament 011 – Ontario Team Championships – Team Combo Smite and Charlie’s Angels REPRESENT

Well, to be completely honest, this was mostly Charlie’s Angels representing… but Combo Smite went! And we did okay!

Of course, you’ve probably watched the videos Nick posted already… and if you haven’t, ya should!… but now you can listen to Nick and me talking with two of the best WarMachine players in North America about the event!

A huge thank you to both Marc-Andre (I don’t know how to get the accent on that “e”, sorry!) LeBlanc and Chandler Davidson for hanging out with us and talking shop!

Podcast 045 – Tournament 006 – Game Summit Masters – Marc’s Results w/ Menoth

So last weekend was the Game Summit Masters in Ottawa. A fantastic time sandwiched between two brutally long drives… but totally worth it!

Due to the length of the trip and the exhaustion involved, and because of some game cancellations this week, we decided to do the trip as our Podcast game this week… so come, gather round friends, and listen to a tale of two novice WarMachine players in the distant north!
