So, let me outline my Sunday for you: Wake up at 7:50, crawl to my computer, call Nick and Skype for four hours to record our podcast…
And then from 2pm until 7:30, I edited that podcast we recorded! And now you awesome people can listen to the fruit of my entire Sunday worth of labour! Do let us know what ya think!
Last weekend the Combo Smite crew headed down to Burlington, Ontario to compete in Canada’s first WTC style team tournament, the Ontario Team Championship.
The event was run by Scott Talarico from Party Foul and a huge thanks go out to him and all his volunteers for putting on such an huge and successful Warmachine event. Team Combo Smite consisted of: Marc (Cygnar), Nick (legion), Kassem (Skorne), Adam (Cryx) and Darrell (Menoth). We made a good showing and our team went 3-1 and took 5th place. Last weekend Marc and I made our way down to Black Knight Games in Hamilton, ON for the second event in the 2015 Store Wars circuit.
We both had a great day of gaming Marc went 2-2 and I went 3-1. While we were there I also recorded one game from each round of the event to share with our viewers.
They cut the tournament off at 4 rounds, at which point there were still 3 player who were 4-0.
All in all it was a great day of games. Can’t wait for the next one.

So, a few weeks ago I reported on my status with Dynamo, Cygnar’s newest character warjack. I got him about half done… and last weekend, managed to get him finished!
First, here’s our hero when last we left him…
All of the base colours are done at this point, and I “just” have to do the highlights… and the golds, of course (that’s what all the brown is for)
Day of Valour 56 was held this past Saturday at the Hobby Kingdom in Burlington Ontario. It was a 50pt Steamroller, 2 list Divide and Conquer, using the Steamroller 2015 Beta rules (which we can’t publish so don’t ask us. Ask your local PG and they can tell you about it). About 16 players were expected but 27 showed up. What ensued was a long day with lots of quality Warmachine.
Combo Smite was there to compete and you can read the tournament battle reports Marc and I are going to put up about our games and our podcast talking about them as well but we also brought along our recording equipment and took video from 1 game for each of the rounds. Continue reading

Further work on my Stryker3! Hoping to get him finished for the game tomorrow…

Base coat is about… 75% done at this point. Happy with how he’s coming along, but a LOT of work still to go. But what would Stryker be without his noble horse?

The header basically says it all… over the weekend I finally finished Haley, pEiryss, Aiyana, Holt, and Taryn. They are now sealed and ready to be delivering pain to my opponents!
So I decided it was time to move back towards the warm embrace of Cygnar. Not that I have anything against Menoth… I’ve been having fun, and I still have about 500 points of models that aren’t assembled or painted… but after the last tournament, I realized that I really missed my boys in blue. Time to get ’em back on the table!
I’ve also realized that I’m very, very weak with very strong warcasters… specifically, I’m not very good with either Haley. And that’s tragic. My weakest matchups have always been against Cryx, and the Haleys are probably the strongest anti-Cryx drops in the game… so it was time to change that.
